How to make an infographic element in adobe illustrator

In this tutorial , we will learn how to built an infographic poster , using various tools and techniques in adobe illustrator. In this tutorial , an infographic is through poster only, no work is done on topography.

Table and umbrella part

Step 1: Start by  choosing rectangle tool from and set the preference as shown. Fill it with RGB 139, 94, 60.

Again choose rectangle and fill it with RGB 209, 211, 212

Step 2 : choose rectangle tool with width :17 pt, height 681pt and fill it with RGB..  to make table stand create a rectangle of width 17 pt, height 119 pt filled with RGB 209, 211, 212. select the rectangle and rotate 45degree. Using direct selection tool lengthen the fourth side to make the stand as in the image. Do it same for the other side.

Step 3 : select ellipse tool with width 893 pt and height 397 pt fill with RGB 194, 181, 155. using direct selection tool make this ellipse into semi-ellipse. Again make a  semi-ellipse of width 67 pt and height 76 pt filled it with RGB 241, 90,41.  Select the small semi-ellipse , choose effect> distort &transform> transform. Now set the preference as shown.

Chair Part

Step 4 : choose rectangle of width 121 pt and height 13 pt filled it with RGB 139,94,60. Again make a rectangle of width 11pt and height 150 pt. now make the rectangle of width 94 pt and height 127 pt filled with RGB 139,94,60. Make the complete path as shown.

Coffee Corner Part

Step 5 : make a rounded rectangle of width 792 pt, height 567 and corner radius 20 pt. filled it with RBG 194, 181, 155.  To make strips , make a rectangle of width 868 pt and height 83 pt filled with RGB247, 148, 30. Select the last rectangle choose effect>distort & transform> transform. Filled the preference to make 3 stripes.

Step 6 : to make the stand choose a rectangle of width 12 pt and height 492 pt filled it with RGB 139, 94, 60. make a copy using alt-click and drag to the right corner for another rod.

Step 7: make a rounded rectangle of option filled with as shown. Filled it with RGB 139,94,60.  now make a  semi-ellipse of width 89pt and height 94 pt filled with RGB 139,94,60.  choose effect>distort& transform> transform and set the value to make 13 copies of it.

Step 8: to make the top most layer , make a rounded rectangle with the set preference filled it with RGB247, 148, 30.

Step 9 : to make the components of the shop make some items as shown in the following three images below.

Step 10: to make the menu board, choose rounded rectangle of set preference. Choose shear angle of 20 degrees with a horizontal axis. Make a rectangle with angle 20-degree shift to make the stand for the menu board.

To make the background

Step : make a rectangle of width 2560 and height 816 pt filled with RGB 230, 231, 232. To make some bricks, choose rounded rectangle of given preference, filled with RGB 241, 242, 242. Make some copies of bricks on the background.

Step : using text tool make the text “STREET FOOD”, COFFEE CORNER, INFOGRAPHIC ELEMENTS

How to use gradient mesh tool in adobe illustrator

Gradient mesh tool is most amazing and confounding tools in adobe illustrator. With using this tool, a user can convert any shape into meshwork area. But remember shape means only noncompound object. 
Converting the shape into the mesh, each intersecting two line can be filled with a solid color. Again the filling work entirely depends on the type of option you have opt for gradient mesh work. This tutorial helps you to have command on gradient mesh work but only for noncompound shape.

Creating a basic mesh.

Step 1 : select ellipse and fill with RGB 255 242 0. now choose object> to create gradient mesh…

Step 2: set the preference as shown. You will get the work  as shown.

Step 3: using direct selection tool select any anchor and fill with RGB 255 171 0. Do it for other       
             anchor point till you get the final image.

Step 4: choose polygon and set the preference as shown. Fill it with RGB 255 242 0. Apply gradient
          a  mesh works on this shape.

Step 5: using the direct selection tool, fill the anchor point with RGB 255 130 0.

Step 6: make eyes ,nose, and mouth in order to give a funky look  to our hot sun.

           Two ways to  add long shadow to flat icon in adobe illustrator

With the increase in the flat icon, a long shadow is also in trend. In today,s tutorial we will take a closer look at the method used to create a long shadow art  in illustrator.

Time: 10 mintue

1st method: using blend tool

Step 1: choose file>new form the panel. Set the preference as shown.


Step2: using the same layer, draw a rectangle and fill with RGB 0 174 239.


Step 3: make a new from layer panel (f7), make a star from shape tool at the centre of a rectangle. Make a copy by using alt key and place at 45 degrees at a distance as shown.

Step 4: using blend tool (W) make blend on both star shape. Now choose object>blend>blend option> specified distance 2pt. Now set the fill as RGB 241 242 242, RGB 167 169 172

Step 5: create a new layer. Select the star tool to draw a star with fill RGB 249 237 50, above the first object of blend work. Again choose a new layer to draw the rectangle with no fill.

STEP 6: select the entire layer and choose object> clipping mask> make. This step will remove the extra shadow work on a star.

2nd method: using direct selection tool

Step1: follow the above step 1 .here I choose a different fill RGB 0 166 81

Step 2: create a new layer to make the shown work .fill each rectangle with shown RGB 255 242 0, RGB 237 28 36, RGB 39 170 225, RGB 251 176 64

Step 3: let’s start with the first rectangle work. Create a new layer and draw a rectangle from shape tool with no fill. Select the rectangle and object> transform> rotate -45 degree.
Using direct selection tool set the rectangle to make perfect shadow work. Fill it with the gradient tool. Follow the same for other three rectangle work.
